A leading organisation in the electronics manufacturing sector is seeking an Assistant Materials Director to join their team in Hong Kong. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the materials department, ensuring all processes align with organisational standards and industry best practices.
  • Support the planning, procurement, inventory control, and distribution of materials required for electronic manufacturing services, maintaining accuracy and efficiency at every stage.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure seamless material flow throughout the supply chain.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for cost reduction, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives within the materials function.
  • Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages or excesses, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and maintain optimal stock levels.

Candidate Profiles:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or relevant disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in materials management or supply chain roles within an electronics manufacturing setting is highly desirable for this position.
  • A solid understanding of procurement processes, inventory control methods, supplier relationship management principles, and relevant industry regulations is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required as you will frequently collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.
  • Strong organisational abilities enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or similar software tools for tracking materials movement is expected.
  • Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—are necessary for preparing reports and negotiating with suppliers or stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach towards problem-solving allows you to identify issues early on and implement practical solutions efficiently.
