A leading global trading organisation is seeking a General Manager / Senior Manager – Vendor Compliance to lead compliance and sustainability initiatives. The role offers the chance to drive ethical practices and improve environmental standards across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

As General Manager / Senior Manager - Vendor Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping responsible business practices while ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Your expertise will drive compliance strategies, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building efforts across the supply chain.

  • Define and execute compliance and sustainability strategy; track KPIs to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead and develop the compliance and sustainability team, including training and resource planning
  • Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to integrate compliance and sustainability into business strategy and decision-making
  • Oversee vendor and supply chain compliance with social, environmental, and ethical standards; lead improvement projects
  • Manage escalated issues, stay ahead of regulatory and industry changes, and represent the organisation in relevant forums

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you will bring extensive experience in managing large-scale compliance or sustainability programmes within global retail or supply chain industries. Your ability to lead teams, analyse data trends, and engage stakeholders will be critical in driving positive change across the organisation’s operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 12–15 years’ experience in compliance/sustainability, with at least 5 years in senior leadership, ideally within global retail or supply chain environments. Candidates with less experience may be considered at Senior Manager level
  • Strong expertise in social compliance standards (e.g. amfori BSCI) and environmental sustainability, especially within the hardgoods sector
  • Proven people leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (Cantonese and Mandarin preferred), globally experienced, tech-savvy (Microsoft Office), and committed to high ethical standards
