Director, Container Operations

Our client stands as a leading container/ocean shipping business player. They're hiring a Director to oversee the development of the container division.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the container leasing sector (knowledge on manufacturing & trading within container lifecycle is preferred), overseeing operations and the Asset Management System while exploring new market opportunities through thorough analysis
  • Direct the team in creating and refining the Asset Management System to meet user requirements and business objectives, aiming for greater efficiency
  • Cultivate strong connections with key clients and coordinate with strategic partners to ensure production timelines, product quality, and prompt delivery
  • Establish and maintain a depot network to facilitate growth goals, collaborating with stakeholders to maximize resources and ensure smooth daily functions
  • Oversee inventory and activities at regional depots and factories, and manage the execution of policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and meet quality standards

Requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or related disciplines
  • 10 years' experience in container operations (shipping liners/container business)
  • Know-how/knowledge in other container business functions (e.g. trading, manufacturing, etc.) is a plus
  • Good command of English & Chinese (both Cantonese & Mandarin)
  • Business travel to other APAC regions is entitled
