Merchandising Manager (Garment, Fabric)

An MNC trading & manufacturing business is looking for a Merchandising Manager to join their garment division for the Chinese Fabric category.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate seasonal fabric sources to fulfill business requirements
  • Oversee the sample fabric ordering pipeline, including testing and inspection processes
  • Engage in supplier negotiations to optimize cost, agreements, quality, and other production factors
  • Investigate emerging fabric innovations and fashion trends, then pitch new concept ideas to the design team
  • Grow and manage a diverse fabric supplier network, collaborating with production to resolve any bulk-stage fabric challenges

Requirements:

  • Degree in Fashion/Textile or related discipline
  • 5-8 years' experience in fabric sourcing/merchandising
  • Solid knowledge of mainland sourcing landscape
  • Manufacturing background is a strong plus
  • Good command of English & Chinese (both Cantonese & Mandarin)
