Head of Air Freight

What you'll do:

• Oversee daily airfreight operations across Hong Kong and South China, ensuring all activities are executed in line with established strategies and performance targets.
• Optimise operational processes to enhance productivity within the airfreight product, identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing best practices.
• Ensure strict adherence to operational procedures and policies, maintaining compliance with both internal standards and external regulations.
• Support route management by providing expert guidance on network planning, capacity utilisation, and service delivery.
• Maximise airfreight productivity for the area by monitoring key performance indicators, analysing trends, and driving initiatives that deliver measurable results.
• Drive CM1 (contribution margin) optimisation through effective cost management, pricing strategies, and resource allocation.
• Guide commercial teams on airfreight rates and emerging market opportunities, fostering close collaboration between operational and sales functions.
• Align local operations with central, regional, and area strategies by communicating objectives clearly and offering support as needed to achieve shared goals.
• Act as a point of contact for all airfreight-related matters in the area, resolving issues promptly while nurturing positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Champion a culture of safety, teamwork, and mutual respect throughout the organisation.

What you bring:

• Extensive experience managing airfreight or logistics operations within a complex regional or international environment is essential for this role.
• A proven track record in process optimisation and productivity enhancement within supply chain or transportation sectors is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of operational procedures, compliance requirements, and industry regulations relevant to airfreight is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for building trust-based relationships with internal teams as well as external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to guide commercial teams on pricing strategies while supporting business development initiatives is important.
• Experience aligning local operations with wider organisational strategies through effective communication and collaborative problem-solving is valued.
