Senior Trade Lane Manager (Asia, Latin America)
This role offers you the chance to shape commercial strategies, build influential carrier relationships and become the go-to expert for all matters related to Latin American trade.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with ocean carrier partners relevant to Brazil and broader Latin America trade lanes, including both global and regional stakeholders.
- Execute comprehensive global carrier strategies as well as targeted regional trade carrier initiatives to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Establish rate coverage for Brazil and Latin America trades in close coordination with strategic partners to ensure competitive positioning.
- Procure competitive FAK (Freight All Kinds) and NAC (Named Account) rates by understanding individual country requirements and negotiating effectively.
- Respond promptly to tenders and RFQs to secure new business from regional and global customers, supporting the organisation’s growth objectives.
- Monitor and coordinate daily pricing and procurement activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and market competitiveness.
- Provide timely updates on market information regarding carriers and evolving trade situations to inform decision-making across teams.
- Support partnership management by nurturing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders throughout the network.
- Actively assist the sales organisation by sharing market intelligence, generating sales leads, and participating in joint sales meetings to drive revenue growth.
- Educate internal teams with trade-specific market knowledge and insights into unique market idiosyncrasies relevant to Latin America.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated in-depth market knowledge of Latin America trades with particular expertise in Brazilian trade lanes.
- Established relationships with key carrier decision makers in both Asia and Latin America that enable effective negotiation and partnership building.
- Comfortable making decisions independently while also excelling in collaborative environments that value teamwork.
- Proven experience providing guidance within organisations through supportive leadership practices that encourage growth among colleagues.
- Ability to work autonomously while remaining dependable within interdependent team structures focused on shared goals.
- Willingness to travel frequently across regions as required by business needs to maintain strong stakeholder connections.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is essential; proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese would be considered advantageous for this position.
