Logistics Manager, Asia (Personal Care & Accessories)
As Logistics Manager Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Region, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the logistics operations for a major player in international trade.
Job Requirements:
- Design and implement a scalable logistics and distribution network tailored to support ongoing trade business growth across the APEC region, ensuring adaptability to changing market demands.
- Work collaboratively with sourcing and customer service teams to expand regional distribution capabilities in a manner that prioritises both cost-effectiveness and agility.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with logistics partners such as third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and overseas buyers through effective sourcing strategies and performance assessments.
- Establish, refine, and maintain comprehensive logistics policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Lead, coach, and nurture the logistics team by providing guidance for continuous improvement initiatives while fostering operational excellence within the department.
- Provide hands-on support during peak periods by stepping into operational tasks as needed to guarantee service continuity and balanced workloads among team members.
- Control the logistics budget by preparing detailed cost reports, analysing expenditure data, and identifying opportunities for savings or efficiency improvements.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations based on performance metrics and operational data to inform strategic decision-making within the organisation.
- Monitor transportation, customs processes, warehousing activities, and proactively mitigate risks associated with these areas to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct thorough regulatory research to guarantee that all logistics activities comply with relevant laws and international trade regulations specific to each market within the APEC region.
Requirements:
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in logistics management or international trade environments is essential for success in this position.
- At least three years’ experience at managerial level is highly desirable as it demonstrates your ability to lead teams effectively within complex settings.
- A university degree in any discipline is required; specialisation in logistics management will be considered an advantage when assessing applications.
- Experience working within multinational corporations (MNCs) is preferable due to the cross-border nature of this role’s responsibilities.
- Exceptional communication skills are necessary—including fluency in both English and Mandarin—to facilitate clear interactions with diverse stakeholders across regions.
- Previous exposure to hospitality industry supply chains would be advantageous but is not mandatory for consideration.
- Demonstrated track record managing international logistics operations including trade compliance procedures import/export documentation requirements shipping regulations etc.
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed for partner exploration warehouse audits or other business-critical activities is expected from candidates applying for this post.
- Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Microsoft Project ERP systems is required for effective reporting analysis project management purposes.
- Ability to thrive within fast-moving cross-functional environments by remaining open-minded proactive about market research or new material sourcing opportunities.
