Our client is seeking a highly skilled APAC Counsel to join their team in Hong Kong. This role offers the opportunity to provide accurate and timely legal guidance on all matters affecting the company's Far East affiliates. The successful candidate will have the chance to prepare, draft, and review a variety of legal documents, including international commercial sales and purchasing contracts. What you'll do:

As an APAC Counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support across the organisation. You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing various legal documents while ensuring minimal risk exposure. Your expertise will be crucial in analysing potential case outcomes based on established legal precedents. Furthermore, you will advise on international business transactions and contribute significantly to internal governance policies.

  • Provide accurate and timely legal guidance on all matters that affect the company's Far East affiliates.
  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, including deeds, international commercial sales and purchasing contracts.
  • Draft and standardize agreements, contracts and other legal documents to minimize risk and maximize legal rights.
  • Identify proactive solutions to eliminate or mitigate risks.
  • Analyse the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Advise on international business transactions, claim liability, and the advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the APAC Counsel position brings a wealth of experience from a major law firm or equivalent in-house role. Your proficiency in English and Mandarin will be essential for this role. Your detail-oriented nature coupled with strong project management skills will enable you to excel in this position. Your ability to interact effectively at all levels within an organization across various jurisdictions will be key to your success. Additionally, your excellent written and oral communication skills will aid you in delivering clear and concise advice.

  • Qualified Solicitor
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a major law firm or equivalent in-house experience.
  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English and Mandarin.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and execution skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with multiple levels within an organization across various jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work independently but also thrive in a global, dynamic and team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
