Legal Counsel- regional bank

A regional bank is looking for a Lawyer to join its growing legal team.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct and collaborate with external counsel on litigation matters, providing accurate and strategic advice to management and relevant internal teams.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a comprehensive range of commercial agreements and legal documentation related to banking services and products.
• Provide timely and precise legal advice to management and applicable internal units within the bank.
• Review and update internal policies and procedures from a legal perspective to ensure compliance with the latest laws and regulations.
• Work closely with various internal units, including headquarters and overseas branches, to maintain consistency in the bank's policies.
• Organize and deliver training on legal topics to staff, ensuring the bank is informed of any changes in the legal framework.

Requirements:

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 PQE.
• Prior experience in the banking or finance industry, or substantial knowledge of banking is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with ISDA documentation is a significant advantage.
• Experience and knowledge in commercial litigation are essential.
• Strong contract drafting and interpretation skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage)
