Compliance & Product Specialist - Hedge Fund
This is a fast growing global hedge fund. They are looking for a compliance/product specilaist to in preparing documents for launch of new funds/products, managing ODD with prospective investors/clients, and drafting/negotiating legal and operational agrreeements
Responsibilities include:
• Representing the firm professionally in internal and external correspondence, with stakeholders including fund directors, existing and prospective clients, business partners, and service providers.
• Leading client onboarding and relationship management within the broader Investment Services team, beginning at investor indication of interest and continuing throughout the client relationship:
• Preparing, reviewing and negotiating documents for the launch of new products (SMAs and funds) (e.g. offering memorandums, brokerage agreements, investment management agreements, and other service-levereements, etc.), including contract negotiation, reference and fact checking, document version control, and integrity management.
• Preparing, reviewing and negotiating documents related to ongoing client relationship management (e.g. side letters, etc.)
• Managing the Operational Due Diligence process with prospective investors, existing clients, and counterparties, acting as the point person to coordinate responses and resources across the firm.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of legal and operational agreements, e.g. non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts, profit-sharing agreements, service agreements, loan facility agreements, etc.
• Assisting in the development of new products by conducting guided background research and analysis.
• Assisting in planning and coordinating product-related projects and initiatives, including collaborating with relevant stakeholders and deadline management.
• Supporting the COO in preparation for board meetings, including compiling the board meeting report and reviewing meeting minutes.
• Assisting in managing the firm’s virtual data room and investor register.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or above; law degree preferred.
• 5-10 years’ experience ideally in the asset management sector of the legal industry OR asset management industry in a product or directly related role.
• Legal training is an advantage.
• CFA is an advantage.
• Proficiency and extensive experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
• Native fluency in spoken and written English.
