As a Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support across various business departments. You will be involved in full-cycle legal agreement negotiations for different business projects, ensuring their compliance. Your expertise will also be crucial in supporting back-office departments with legal affairs and conducting compliance checks for various agreements, statements, and legal documents. You will play a key role in identifying transactions based on information provided by business departments and assisting with related disclosure work as per listing rules. Additionally, you will handle other legal compliance-related tasks as required by management.
- Provide full-cycle legal agreement negotiation support for various business projects
- Conduct compliance reviews for all business operations, especially towards SFC regulatory matters
- Support back-office departments with legal affairs and compliance checks for various agreements, statements, and legal documents
- Identify transactions based on information provided by business departments and assist with related disclosure work as per listing rules
- Assist with the annual declaration, updates, and record-keeping for the company and its subsidiaries
- Ensure proper execution of internal regulations and decision-making process controls
- Handle other legal compliance-related tasks as required by management
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Legal Counsel position brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of law. You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Law from Hong Kong or overseas and are a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). Your background includes experience in well-known law firms/funds/securities/asset management or other financial institutions. You are familiar with company ordinances, listing rules, Securities and Futures Ordinance, and Debtors Ordinance among others. Your excellent teamwork spirit, analytical skills, and interpersonal communication abilities set you apart. You are proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) both spoken and written.
