The successful candidate will be part of the Business Legal Support team, providing expert advice on legal matters across key transactions and business initiatives, including structured and derivative products trading and project financing. What you'll do:
As a Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in advising on legal matters across various transactions and business initiatives. You will have the opportunity to review and negotiate contracts with institutional clients while working closely with different teams within the organisation. Your expertise will also be crucial in supporting the General Counsel to conduct legal analysis for major transactions. Furthermore, you will play an integral role in establishing legal policies and procedures as well as building an internal legal resources database.
- Advising on legal matters across key transactions and business including structured and derivative products trading and project financing
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts with institutional clients including ISDA/GMRA/GMSLA and ancillary documents
- Working closely with management, business team, and external counsel in drafting, negotiating and executing all necessary legal documentation
- Supporting General Counsel to conduct legal analysis for major transaction and new business initiatives
- Establishing a good relationship with senior management and internal stakeholders and developing a thorough understanding of businesses
- Performing legal due diligence and minimizing legal risks in relation to the business and transactions
- Establishing legal policies and procedures, preparing and updating templates, building internal legal resources database
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel position is a qualified solicitor with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience. You have gained relevant experience in reputable law firms or financial institutions. Your excellent command of both Chinese & English coupled with your strong communication skills make you adept at liaising with various stakeholders. A general good understanding of financial markets and products is essential for this role.
