What you'll do:
As a Legal Counsel, you will play an integral role in providing legal advice across a range of SFC Type 1,4,6 and 9 businesses. You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing commercial documents as well as conducting legal research on local and PRC laws. Your role will also involve handling potential dispute resolution matters including settlement of client complaints and negotiations with counterparties. - Provide legal advice in relation to SFC Type 1,4,6 and 9 businesses
- Draft and review commercial documents and legal documents
- Review and revise external counterparty agreements
- Conduct legal research on local and PRC laws relating to the business
- Handle potential dispute resolution matters including settlement of client complaints and negotiations with counterparties
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel position will hold a degree in Law or related discipline(s) with at least 8 years of working experience as an external or in-house legal counsel. Experience in SFC Type 1,4,6 and 9 corporations would be advantageous. Familiarity with The Hong Kong Securities & Futures Ordinance, Company Ordinance and other statutory and regulatory requirements is essential. The ability to handle company secretarial work would be beneficial. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal communication skills with proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin).
- 5 years PQE or above working experience as external or in-house legal counsel
- Working experience in SFC Type 1,4,6 and 9 corporations is an advantage
- Familiarity with The Hong Kong Securities & Futures Ordinance, Company Ordinance and other statutory and regulatory requirements
- Experience on handling company secretarial work is an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadline
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and writing skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin)
