Head of compliance - insurance

A leading insurance firm, is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to join their team.

As the Head of Compliance, you will be a key member of the senior management team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the Compliance and Business Conduct functions, participating in various committees to ensure best compliance practices across the organization and adherence to global frameworks
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies to foster mutual trust, respect, and understanding, including lobbying and providing advice to assist in the development of regulations
• Foster and maintain a strong compliance culture through oversight of training initiatives, establishment of policies and standards, providing compliance approvals, and undertaking necessary monitoring and review activities
• Ensure the business is managed within the frameworks set by applicable internal and external regulations/guidelines by providing advice and support to the management team
• Protect the company against potential/perceived threats associated with anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering regulations
• Oversee compliance reporting to Group Compliance, including the escalation of issues to senior management and relevant committees

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Business, Law, Commerce, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of compliance experience
• Solid understanding of the regulatory environment within the insurance industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation capabilities
• Proven negotiation and influencing skills
• Demonstrated management experience within a sizable Compliance team
• Flexibility to operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to translate policies into practical actions
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Cantonese/Mandarin proficiency would also be beneficial
