What you'll do:

As a Derivatives Lawyer, you will play an integral role in supporting our Equity Derivatives and Trading business in Asia. Your will be reviewing and negotiating agreements with service providers, establishing retail warrants programs across various Asian markets, verifying listing documentation with internal stakeholders, instructing external counsel, managing approvals, advising on regulatory issues, implementing compliance documentation, and providing general legal support. You will also have the opportunity to drive project development and implementation. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, flexibility, proactivity, and sound judgement.

  • Provide legal support to the Equity Derivatives and Trading business in Asia
  • Drive project development and implementation
  • Review and negotiate agreements with service providers including brokers and custodians
  • Establish and update retail warrants programs across various Asian markets
  • Verify listing documentation with internal stakeholders
  • Instruct external counsel and manage external and internal approvals
  • Advise on any OTC derivatives regulatory issues
  • Implement documentation for OTC regulatory compliance
  • Provide general and other ad hoc legal and regulatory support to the business

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Derivatives Lawyer role will bring a wealth of experience in equity derivatives and/or master documentation, ideally gained from banking/financial institutions or law firms. You will have strong experience drafting and negotiating key legal agreements, and knowledge of equity derivatives, structured notes and warrants would be highly desirable. Your analytical mind, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and make quick judgement calls will set you apart. You will also have excellent communication skills in English, with Chinese language capability being an advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualified experience in equity derivatives and/or master documentation
  • Experience gained from banking/financial institutions or law firms
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating ISDA Master Agreement, Credit Support Annex, Global Master Securities Lending Agreement and supplemental agreements
  • Knowledge of equity derivatives, structured notes and warrants is highly desirable
  • Analytical mind with attention to detail
  • Experience working under fast-paced environment dealing with tight deadlines
  • Proven track record of working flexibly and proactively to make quick judgement calls across complex matters
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with stakeholders and counterparties
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English. Chinese language capability will be a good to have
