Legal Counsel (Insurance)

I am currently representing a leading Life Insurance Company in looking for Legal Counsel to join their team. This is a newly created position, keen to speak to lawyers of 5+ PQE with relevant industry experience in either law firm or in-house.

Description:

• Provide legal services to the Group and assist General Counsel on the delivery of legal services with respect to the regulatory and compliance matter on insurance, funds and HNW business solutions and products.
• Provide support to Legal team in general legal advices including regulatory projects and third party contracts review for external service providers, distributions and products, etc
• Provide specific legal advice to business contract/ agreements, reinsurance agreements, product review and regulatory matters
• Manage external counsel relationships and litigation cases
• Special projects, including M&A projects, as assigned by General Counsel

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer (5-7 years’ PQE) with experience preferably in insurance/financial institutions is preferred
• Good understanding of Insurance Ordinance, Banking Ordinance, Securities and Futures Ordinance, and the Hong Kong regulatory framework in respect of financial institutions is highly preferred
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-minded, self-motivated and able to work in fast paced environment
• A good team player & able to work proactively & independently
• Proficient in spoken and written English & Chinese
