Senior Counsel (Derivatives)

Calling for Derivatives Lawyers with 15+ PQE, this is a newly created position for a leading financial institute.

Responsibilities:

• Work proactively with colleagues to deliver on various business initiatives within the right control, governance and regulatory framework
• Assess new business initiatives, provide solutions to achieve business results, manage and mitigate risks, and support sustainable business growth
• Assist the Division in preventing and mitigating regulatory and reputational risks, and enhancing its governance standard on an ongoing basis
• Work closely with the Division functions, as well as control functions of the firm, to develop and implement internal compliance and risk policies and the relevant control framework

Requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years PQE in an international financial institution, preferably with close interaction with sales & trading desks and regulators
• Excellent knowledge of the securities, futures and derivatives markets, and custody framework
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin). Candidates may be required to undertake a written test in English and Chinese
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-pace environment
