Senior Counsel (Hedge Fund, 6+ PQE)

A newly created headcount, I am currently representing a Hedge Fund with global presence in looking for a Senior Counsel to join their team. Lawyers over 5 PQE with relevant experience please reach out for a confidential discussion.

Key responsibilities:

• Advise on regulations relevant to investment management regimes in countries throughout Asia
• Lead all general corporate matters in the Asia region (e.g., entity formation, drafting governance documents, resolutions, etc.)
• Assist with the negotiation of trading documentation with trading counterparties and prime brokers
• Coordinate AML/KYC onboarding with Asia-based trading counterparties
• Perform research, provide insight and make recommendations based on best practices
• Work with the Legal Team to review and interpret international, federal and local laws and regulations
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment, with good judgement regarding when to elevate issues
• Provide direct support to the Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel
• Review and respond to legal inquiries raised by business units or departments
• Personal interactions with all levels of the business

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor with 6+ PQE
• Thrives while contributing in fast-paced, demanding environment with ability to prioritize tasks and handle time efficiently
• Practical experience with legal matters in financial services industry is preferred
• Strong desire to work collaboratively with the team
• Maintains a high standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients and regulatory agencies
• Problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement appropriate solutions
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet/exceed deadline
• Consistent work ethic through hard work, confidence and effort
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills
