A retail firm seeks a Chief People Officer in Hong Kong to partner executive leadership in driving regional people strategy, culture, HR transformation, and talent initiatives across APAC and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

As Chief People Officer, you will lead the regional people strategy by aligning HR with business growth, driving talent, analytics, performance, and culture initiatives to enhance engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness.

  • Leadership Team & Strategy: Partner with Co-Founders and market leaders to align people strategy with business growth, expansion, transformation initiatives, organisational design, and data-driven decision-making
  • Talent Acquisition, Employer Brand & Retention: Build a high-performing global talent function, implement scalable hiring strategies, anticipate future skill gaps, and strengthen employer branding to attract and retain top talent
  • Performance, Development & Total Rewards: Drive modern performance management, competitive rewards, and robust leadership development and succession planning
  • Culture, Engagement & Operations: Champion company culture across markets, enhance engagement through data-led initiatives, and ensure seamless, compliant HR operations

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you are experienced in leading strategic HR in complex, transforming organisations, driving inclusive culture, global talent strategy, performance, and data-led people initiatives across APAC and the Middle East.

  • 10+ years in strategic HR roles, including 5+ years at executive level
  • Track record of creating and scaling people functions—recruitment, development, rewards, HRIS—in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Uses data and metrics to align people strategy with P&L, growth, and organisational goals
  • Strong influence, emotional intelligence, and communication to inspire teams and engage leadership
  • Experienced across APAC (China essential, Middle East a plus) and thrives in fast-moving business environments
