Associate, Operational Risk

A financial services institution in Hong Kong is looking for an Associate, Operational Risk to support enterprise risk administration, cross-functional collaboration, and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

As an Associate, Operational Risk, you will administer and optimise core risk systems, coordinate cross-departmental risk data and projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate, compliant, and insightful operational risk.

• System & Data Governance: Administered and optimised the risk data system, coordinating cross-departmental data entry to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely risk information
• Operational Risk Management: Led operational risk projects by collecting statistics, conducting inspections and assessments, and preparing regulatory and management reports in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Comprehensive Risk Administration: Oversaw policy reviews, affiliate monitoring, and consolidated risk administration while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting ad-hoc and special initiatives

Candidate profile

The ideal Associate, Operational Risk has an experience in operational risk or credit analysis, strong regulatory knowledge, sharp analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset.

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with membership to professional bodies (HKICPA, ACCA, CFA, FRM) is highly preferred; IT background is a plus
• 2–4 years of experience in operational risk management or credit within securities or investment banking environments
• Exposure to internal/external audit and/or due diligence, with solid product knowledge and compliance control experience
• Good understanding of SFO, Listing Rules, and investment banking or private equity fund operations
• Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills, fluency in English and Mandarin (written and verbal), and proficiency in MS Office and Chinese word processing
