AVP, Operational Risk

Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an AVP, Operational Risk to join their expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive operational risk management frameworks and policies.
• Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across the organization.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into operational processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and facilitate risk workshops to enhance risk awareness and culture.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board on operational risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
• Lead the development of risk metrics and key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor and report on operational risk.
• Stay informed of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to operational risk.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in operational risk management within a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks (e.g., Basel III, COSO).
• Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CPA) are a plus.
