Operational Risk Manager, Private Bank (First line)

Responsibilities

• Serve as first line of defence to advise front office regarding product and investment suitability, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards.
• Conduct transaction and selling process monitoring, trade surveillance and business review, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and proactively identifying potential market misconduct or suspicious activities.
• Execute risk control mechanisms and measures
• Perform risk and control assessment to ensure relevant risks are identified with proper control being laid down
• Investigate operational risk incidents, recommend appropriate enhancement, and monitor implementation status of action plans
• Coordinate internal / external review or audit
• Coordinate BCP; perform UAT for system enhancement initiatives
• Provide staff training where required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in operational risk, business risk, business compliance, etc, preferably from private banking
• Regulatory knowledge in SFC/HKMA
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Cantonese and English
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
