Manager - Credit Risk Approver (foreign corporate bank)

On behalf of a growing foreign bank we are looking for a seasoned credit risk manager to join their team

Responsibilities:

  • Independently review and assess credit applications from clients, analysing financial statements, credit histories, and market conditions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to evaluate the creditworthiness of clients and identify potential risks.
  • Prepare detailed credit risk assessments and present findings to senior management and credit committees.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of credit risk models and tools to enhance decision-making processes in line with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to understand client needs and advise on credit solutions.
  • Monitor existing credit exposures and ensure compliance with approved credit limits and terms.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and developments in credit risk management
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of credit policies and procedures compliant with regulatory standards.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in credit risk assessment or a related field(approver/ credit analyst) within a corporate banking environment.
  • Product knowledge on syndicate/ bilateral loan, trade finance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, capable of presenting findings clearly and effectively.
  • Solid track record in writing credit risk assessment and credit proposal drafting.
  • Proficient in credit risk assessment tools and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
