Head of middle office opportunity from a strong global market player

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the middle office team operations across a range of asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to enhance operation efficiency and ensure service delivery level
  • Ensure smooth transaction processing, risk oversight, and reporting for all asset types.
  • Recognize and implement improvements to optimize operational workflows and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with front office, risk management, and back office teams to refine processes and elevate service quality.
  • Ensure that all middle office activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with internal stakeholders, including traders, portfolio managers, and senior leadership.
  • Act as a bridge between the middle office and other departments to align on strategic goals.
  • Mentor team members, offering guidance to support their professional growth and skill development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and organize training initiatives to enhance team capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is advantageous.
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in a middle office/ operations role from an investment banking/ global markets environment
  • Strong grasp of operations across various asset classes and investment products.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities with a talent for inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
