Remittance Operation Officer (12-Month Contract)

A leading financial institution seeks a Remittance Operation Officer in Hong Kong to enhance payment and remittance operations, ensuring seamless transaction processing, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service.

Key responsibilities:

• Process end-to-end payment and remittance transactions, including telegraphic transfers, CNY correspondent banking payments, and cheque deposits, ensuring accurate and timely execution
• Execute daily HKD, RMB, and USD clearing operations for cheques, Autopay, and FPS transactions, supporting seamless settlement and operational continuity
• Perform account postings, Nostro reconciliations, payment controls, and operational reporting to maintain financial accuracy and control integrity
• Collaborate with internal teams, HKICL, and correspondent banks to resolve payment enquiries and exceptions, ensuring efficient transaction processing
• Support system upgrades, UAT testing, contingency drills, and compliance with AML, HKMA, and financial crime requirements to uphold operational excellence

Candidate profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in back-office banking operations, specialising in remittance, payments, and clearing
• Hands-on experience with FPS, HKICL, SWIFT (SAA), Nostro reconciliation, and screening tools such as ACTIMIZE and Dow Jones
• Experience in a regulated banking environment, ensuring accurate transaction processing and compliance with operational controls
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
• Fluent in English, with Mandarin proficiency is an advantage
