FX & Commodities Operations Analyst (12-month contract)

Our client is looking for a experienced Commodities Operations Analyst to manage operational processes related to Foreign Exchange (FX), Commodities contracts, and Precious Metals Custody. The role involves ensuring accurate trade life cycle management, timely settlements, and compliance with risk controls, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage confirmations and settlement processes for FX, Commodities contracts, and Precious Metals Custody.
  • Monitor trade life cycles to ensure timely settlements within strict deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with risk controls, internal policies (FIM), and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across global locations and external clients to address inquiries and resolve operational irregularities.
  • Promptly escalate unresolved issues to management to minimise financial or service impacts.
  • Perform post-trade analytics to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance client services.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service during varying work hours due to market volatility or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., system issues, holidays, or weather disruptions).
  • Adhere to operational risk management practices by considering economic conditions, legal/regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to resolve day-to-day operational challenges effectively.
  • Proactive & Driven: Eagerness to learn new or complex processes quickly and take initiative in routine tasks or project initiatives.
  • Client Service Orientation: Proven ability to interact with internal/external clients while managing expectations professionally.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the essence of process designs and implement effective controls.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise articulation of details in both written and verbal communication.
  • Subject Matter Expertise (Preferred): Knowledge of Global Market products (e.g., Precious Metals) and experience in end-to-end operational processes such as confirmations, settlements, GL posting, Nostro/Suspense account reconciliations is an advantage.
