Analyst - trade support (12-month contract)

Ou client is seeking a Trading Analyst to join their team . In this role, you will monitor trading activity, assess risks, and ensure compliance with market regulations while collaborating closely with traders, management, and operations teams. You will play a key role in preparing daily profit-and-loss (P&L) reports, verifying inventory pricing, and supporting month-end accounting procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor trading activity intelligently, identifying and reporting unusual patterns or behaviours.
• Stay fully informed of developments and issues within assigned trading areas.
• Collaborate with traders and their management teams to address inquiries and provide support.
• Partner with Operations to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
• Evaluate inherent risks in trading positions, including market, compliance and reputational risk etc.
• Prepare daily P&L reports for trading desks by conducting pricing reviews to ensure accurate valuation of inventory using firm accounting systems.
• Perform independent price verification on trading inventories to maintain accuracy and integrity.
• Execute month-end procedures to prepare accounts for posting to the firm’s general ledger.
