Equity Research (Strategy/Marco) Associate

A well-established Chinese Investment bank is looking a junior to middle level candidate to join the equity research department. This role will focus on strategy sector and conduct fundamental & financial analysis on markets, assets, sectors, industries and individual companies.

Job responsibility

• Create, maintain and update databases for market context, asset allocations, thematic analysis and event-driven analysis
• Conduct fundamental and financial analysis on markets, assets, sectors, industries and individual companies
• Create, maintain and update models of current and potential portfolio companies on a regular basis
• Assist in the evaluation of investment strategies, tactical opportunities, asset allocations, sector allocations and stock ideas
• Make contributions to research reports with guidance from senior team members
• Monitor and analyze flows of news, events and information
• Work on various client requests independently and in a timely and accurate manner

Job requirements

• Master's degree in Economics or Finance or an equivalent field from a reputed university
• Candidates who are CFA Charter holders or pursuing CFA are preferred
• Minimum 2 years in equity research / strategy capacity;
• Good understanding of financial markets and various asset classes
• Competitive proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese in a clear and concise manner
• Knowledge of various valuation methodologies and metrics for equity analysis of sectors as well as financial modelling skills
• Comfort with data mining, modelling and spreadsheets with quantitative analysis skills
• Proficient with financial databases and analytical platforms, such as Bloomberg, WIND, EPFR and FactSet.
• Knowledge of macroeconomic is a plus
