Equity Proprietary Trader (Director / Executive Director)

An esteemed financial services institution in Hong Kong Island is seeking for a Equity Proprietary Trader (Director / Executive Director) to manage a dedicated equity book, develop advanced trading strategies, and own risk in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Key responsibilities

As an Equity Proprietary Trader, you will manage an equity book, research Asian and global markets, develop and execute trading strategies, oversee risk, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive desk performance, with a focus on A-shares.

• P&L Management: Accountable for the profitability of a specific equity book
• Strategy Development: Lead the research, design, and implementation of new trading strategies, particularly across Asian and global markets
• Risk Management: Oversee daily risk exposure, including market, volatility, and liquidity risks. Define and enforce stop-loss limits and risk parameters for the trading desk
• Execution Oversight: Supervise the execution of large trades, ensuring minimal market impact and optimal pricing

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you will bring strong hands-on equity trading experience—particularly in A-shares—solid academic grounding, sharp market analysis, a proven track record of profitability with disciplined risk management, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a learning-driven environment.

• Experience: Extensive experience in equity trading or investment with a proven track record of consistent performance
• Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of A-shares products
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above
• Communication: Fluency in English
