AVP/VP – Financial Reporting, Bank

Our client is an international financial institution with a diversified wholesale bank across Asia and Europe. The Hong Kong platform supports corporate banking, markets, and treasury activities, partnering with representative offices to deliver cross-border solutions and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate financial, management, and regulatory reporting; oversee reconciliations and balance sheet schedules
• Lead system and product implementations, coordinating UAT, data validation, and stabilization to embed enhancements, mitigate risks, and deliver sustainable efficiency across finance operations.
• Oversee expense processing and general ledger entries; review invoice coding, monitor intercompany charges, and ensure payments and accurate mapping between local books and head-office accounts.
• Manage treasury activities including daily reconciliations, FX position monitoring, and month-end sweeps; clear suspense accounts and maintain funding for regional representative offices and entities.
• Liaise with auditors and regulators; prepare periodic P&L, balance sheet metrics, loss reports, and transfer pricing invoices, ensuring compliance with local reporting and tax requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum five years’ relevant finance experience; Big Four training or bank background advantageous.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong profits tax and HKMA regulatory reporting frameworks.
• Exposure to wholesale banking products: loans, guarantees, deposits, securities, derivatives, foreign exchange.
• Competence with financial systems, reconciliations, and control processes across source-to-ledger environments.
• Advanced Excel skills; macros, VBA, and SQL experience highly desirable.
