Senior Finance Manager - Bank

Our client is a rapidly expanding international financial institution strengthening its presence in Asia. The organisation is establishing new operations in Hong Kong to enhance its trade finance, treasury, and cross-border payment capabilities. This position plays a pivotal role in building the financial governance framework, overseeing regulatory readiness, and supporting strategic business development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial control frameworks supporting operational readiness and long-term business strategy across Hong Kong operations.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets providing leadership with accurate, timely insights for informed financial and commercial decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements through strong reporting standards and proactive engagement with supervisory authorities.
• Coordinate licensing activities by preparing financial materials and managing communication with regulatory bodies as required.
• Establish effective accounting procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets while enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Oversee daily finance activities, ensuring reliable financial operations supporting liquidity planning and strategic business initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline with strong technical grounding.
• Minimum eight years’ financial management experience within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of Hong Kong regulatory standards, reporting expectations and licensing processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
• Proven leadership capability managing teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages advantageous.
