Sustainability Manager

I'm currently helping a large-scale Bank in HK to hire a Sustainability Manager focusing on data analysis, carbon audit and emission calculation.

Responsibilities

• In order to implement company net zero roadmap for funded emissions and track success, assist the Senior Sustainability Manager in their role as project manager by working with related departments
• Measure the group's financed emissions, drive sectorial baselining for the lending and investment portfolio, and contribute to recommendations for target setting, portfolio alignment, scenario analysis, and transition planning in order to support the implementation of net zero roadmap for business activities.
• Monitor financed emissions, fwhich could help with a number of projects, such as achieving ESG goals, ESG risk appetite statement, and customers' sustainability performance goals.
• Through staff training, assist in keeping coworkers informed about the status of BEA's net zero plan for funded emissions.
• Collaborate directly with the Data Science & Governance Department members and associated colleagues on ongoing data dictionary creation, data lineage and gap detection, third-party data sourcing, scenario analysis and portfolio alignment visualization tools, etc.
• Keep an eye on advances in net zero, green, and sustainable finance in Hong Kong and other markets we serve to make sure BEA's efforts stay in line with accepted norms and to predict future changes.
• Support the development of presentations for the meetings and activities of the ESG Work Group and ESG Steering Committee as needed
• Establish connections with outside parties, such as sustainability experts and ESG consultants, who might offer the guidance or insights that would help it on its path to net zero.

Requirements

• Degree holder in data sciences, quantitative analysis and statistics, green and sustainable finance, environmental management, or related discipline;
• 5 years or above working experience in a sizable organisation;
• Working experience in a financial institution, consultancy, or research firm preferred;
• Solid experience and knowledge in carbon accounting (especially financed emissions);
• Exposure to ESG performance management, green and sustainable finance, and/or credit systems preferred;
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills;
• Technical skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ideally with prior experience in Tableau;
• Good spoken and written English and Chinese including Cantonese and Putonghua (Cantonese is a must).
