Project Manager – Telecom & Unified Communications/PABX

A leading tech infrastructure firm seeks a Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager / Senior Engineer in Hong Kong to oversee telecom and UC projects, including IP telephony and structured cabling, ensuring quality, safety, and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

As a Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager / Senior Engineer – Telecom and Unified Communications, you will lead complex projects from initiation to completion while ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical requirements. Your expertise in telecom project management will be critical in coordinating site operations, managing installations, and liaising with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

• Oversee daily site operations for telecom and unified communications projects, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
• Plan and manage structured cabling installations (fibre, copper networks) while maintaining seamless workflows across all stages
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure timely delivery of high-quality project milestones
• Conduct inspections to verify proper installation methods and resolve onsite challenges effectively
• Manage testing phases (FAT/SAT/UAT) and system handovers while preparing detailed documentation for stakeholders

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you will bring extensive experience in managing telecom infrastructure projects alongside strong technical knowledge of unified communications systems. Your ability to coordinate diverse teams while maintaining rigorous safety compliance will set you apart as a reliable leader in this field.

• Higher Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Electronics, or related disciplines is required
• Minimum five years’ experience managing telecom infrastructure projects such as PABX systems or ELV installations
• Proven ability to coordinate onsite installations across multiple locations while managing external contractors efficiently
• Knowledge of PABX/IP telephony platforms (Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, NEC, Alcatel, Huawei) and CAD/Visio drawings
• PMP/PRINCE2 certification advantageous; fluent Cantonese & English, Mandarin is a plus
