Cargo Handling System Engineer

Our client is looking for a Cargo Handling System Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and routine engineering tasks for the company’s cargo handling system, ensuring proper upkeep and emergency repairs of other equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for urgent equipment repairs, providing detailed work arrangements to relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with user departments to identify and prioritize equipment repairs, ensuring defects are addressed effectively and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the Property Management Section to facilitate urgent facility repairs, ensuring adherence to performance standards.
  • Provide regular updates to supervisors regarding work progress and critical issues impacting equipment performance and service quality.
  • Supervise team members in carrying out maintenance tasks in compliance with established engineering standards, timelines, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels of spare parts, materials, and tools, ensuring their appropriate usage and timely replenishment.
  • Prepare regular reports on equipment performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role or contractor management position.
  • High Diploma or above in in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Marine Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Cargo Handling Systems (CHS), Material Handling Systems (MHS), or industrial automation control systems such as PLC logic and SCADA control is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work on shift schedules, including overnight shifts.
