Senior Manager - BD & Project (Hong Kong & China)

A leading global engineering solutions provider is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth across China and Hong Kong, with a focus on oil & gas, marine, civil, structural, and geo‑technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Business Development Manager (China & Hong Kong), you will spearhead strategic business expansion by identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and developing long‑term client relationships across multiple engineering sectors.

• Develop and execute business development strategies across China & Hong Kong for geo‑technical, marine, oil & gas, civil and structural engineering projects
• Identify new clients, markets, and project opportunities, converting leads into commercial wins
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, government bodies, contractors, consultants, and major clients
• Work closely with technical and project teams to deliver customised solutions for clients
• Conduct market intelligence on industry developments, competitor activities, and regulatory trends
• Prepare proposals, bids, commercial negotiations, and partnership agreements
• Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and client meetings across the region

Candidate Profile

To succeed in this role, you will be a well‑connected, strategically minded business developer with deep experience in the China market and strong commercial acumen across engineering‑related sectors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant disciplines
• Minimum 10 years of business development or commercial experience within geo‑technical, marine, O&G, civil, or engineering industries
• Extensive and proven business network in China — essential
• Strong understanding of regional project cycles, client ecosystems, and tendering processes
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
• Self‑driven, influential, and able to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English
