This is a real estate fund manager. They are looking for a finance director/ financial controller to head the finance and accounting team with responsibility for overseeing all the accounting, financial and managerial reporting, banking, budgeting and compliance activities

Job Duties:

1. Manage and supervise the accounting and fund administration team including hiring / training
2. Direct and manage the timely preparation of all management accounts, financial statements and audited annual reports, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, compliance reports and governmental filings and reports of the Group.
3. Maintain and nurture all existing banking relationships of the Group and foster new banking relationships with a view to optimising service levels and loan terms.
4. Oversee all risk management functions of the Group including managing all debt, loan refinancing, payments and the close monitoring of covenants.
5. Prepare and regularly review the management accounts, budgets and cashflow of the Group, including detailed cashflow forecasts and reports for the principals and board of directors of the underlying funds. This will also include the monitoring of incurred costs against budgeted costs for various property projects, and liaison with third party contractors and other associated parties to control costs incurred on these projects.
6. Regular review of the working capital requirements of property redevelopments managed by the Group.
7. Operation of bank accounts held by the Group, including the sign-off on all local payments and the reviewing and approval of payroll payments.
8. Review of legal documents from a business and operations perspective.
9. Oversee the due diligence review process for investments and divestments activities.
10. Work with advisors to ensure compliance with all listing and regulatory requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring the timely preparation and submission of necessary filings.
11. Act as the compliance officer and regulatory contact person for regulators and clients of the Group.
12. Overall supervision of the back office and administrative support to other clients of the Group. This will specifically involve liaising with various parties to ensure that the fund clients of the Group are serviced according to the terms of the relevant administrative services agreements.
13. Regular liaison with various external third parties including accountants, auditors, lawyers, administrators, bankers, architects etc. These third parties are expected to be located both in Hong Kong and overseas.
14. Review of applicable tax and regulatory legislation in a number of different jurisdictions and analysis of how these may affect the Group and make recommendations for optimal structuring of fund vehicles.
15. Any other duties that may be reasonably expected for this position and role.


Requirements:

• Business degree in related field (Economics, Finance, or Accounting
• Strong experience in leading finance functions
• Ability to manage a wide range of different entities in various international jurisdictions (e.g. BVI, Guernsey, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Macau etc)
• Strong compliance and regulatory skills/knowledge and an understanding of fund structures
• Experience with real estate managers and property funds will be an advantage
Fluency in English and Chinese
