GLOBAL TAX ACCOUNTANT

Our client is seeking a Global Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing and reviewing tax documents, forecasting tax credits/expenditures, and liaising with tax authorities during audits. This role requires a deep understanding of tax compliance across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region.

What you'll do:

As a Global Tax Accountant, you will play an integral part in our client's finance team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate preparation and review of various types of tax documents. You will also be involved in forecasting tax credits/expenditures based on the company's business plan and actual quarterly results. Your keen eye for detail will aid in identifying potential tax savings or costs by thoroughly reviewing and analysing various forms of tax information. Additionally, your strong interpersonal skills will be utilised when liaising with tax authorities during audits or SOX key control testing.

  • Support and facilitate the review of various tax documents, including tax returns, service tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), withholding tax, transfer pricing, and tax provisions.
  • Assist in forecasting tax credits and expenditures based on the company's business plan and actual quarterly results.
  • Identify potential tax savings and cost reductions by analyzing tax information, schedules, tax notices, and discrepancies.
  • Prepare comprehensive tax provision packages, data collection packages, and Return-to-Provision work papers for US Corporate Tax reporting on an annual basis.
  • Investigate process errors that led to incorrect tax filings and compile detailed reports on findings.
  • Serve as a point of contact with tax authorities during tax audits and/or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) key control testing, as well as with auditors for statutory accounts purposes.
  • Stay updated on tax-related updates and revisions, conduct research on current developments in the tax field, and communicate relevant information to management.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Tax experience specifically across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Tax Accounting.
  • A proactive and positive "Can-Do" attitude with a willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and establish productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in both written and oral English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Preferred familiarity with various tax software, including OneSource Tax, Hyperion Tax, and Oracle.
