Accounts Payable Officer (Payroll)

The Accounts Payable Officer (Payroll) is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, as well as managing accounts payable functions. This role ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, maintains accurate records, and provides excellent customer service to employees and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing:
    • Process payroll for all employees, including salaries, wages, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
    • Ensure accurate calculation of overtime, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation.
    • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hire information, changes in status, and terminations.
    • Process payroll tax filings and payments to federal, state, and local agencies.
    • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
    • Stay up-to-date on payroll laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process invoices and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
    • Verify vendor information and payment terms.
    • Prepare and process payments to vendors via check, ACH, or wire transfer.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate accounts payable records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
