Finance Director | HK & China

Role Overview

As the Finance Director for Hong Kong and China, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the financial strategy, business performance, and operational excellence of the region. You will serve as a key finance business partner to the General Manager and work closely with the Regional CFO to align local execution with regional goals. This role requires a commercially minded finance leader with a flexible, dynamic personality and a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial operations for Hong Kong and China, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and reporting.
• Oversee the integrity of the full P&L, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with group financial policies.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager, providing financial insights and guidance to support decision-making and business growth.
• Collaborate with the offshore Shared Services Center to ensure timely and accurate financial closing, accounting, payroll, and transactional support.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting tools, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, audit, and statutory requirements, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support pricing strategy, contract review, investment planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team (where applicable), fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles in regional or market-level finance.
• Strong accounting knowledge for both HK and China markets
• Prior experience in the fast moving, creative industries is highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen and track record of partnering with non-finance stakeholders to drive business performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to navigate a matrix organization and influence senior leaders.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
• Agile, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced, creative-driven environment.
