One of the fast growing mining/ natual resources companies is looking for a Financial Controller in view of their aggressive expansion across the regions.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

   • Oversee and manage the financial operations of the newly created BU.
   • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
   • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
   • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.

2. Accounting and Reporting:

   • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
   • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
   • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
   • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory reporting.

3. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Support:

   • Provide financial analysis and due diligence support for potential M&A opportunities.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial implications and risks associated with M&A activities.
   • Assist in the integration of acquired entities into the BU's financial systems and processes.

4. Treasury and Financing Initiatives:

   • Develop and implement treasury strategies to optimize cash flow, manage foreign currency exposure, and mitigate financial risks.
   • Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure efficient treasury operations and compliance with local regulations.
   • Evaluate financing options and support the BU's growth plans through effective capital structure management and funding strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification like CPA/ CFA is required
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within mining/ natural resources/ energy related business
• Experience in managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Solid understanding of M&A processes, due diligence, and integration activities.
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Effective communication and presentation abilities
• Triligual in English, Mandarin & Cantonese
