REGIONAL BRAND PROTECTION MANAGER
This household brand in sports and apparel is now seeking a Regional Brand Protection Manager to coordinate its activities in Asia Pacific, including Japan and India. Liaison with Chinese IP team in Shanghai.
Responsibilities:
• coordinate and organise brand protection activities (law suits, raids, border seizures) against trademark and patent infringements together with external law firms, private agents and authorities (police, customs) in Asia Pacific, excluding China
• identify counterfeits and prepare corresponding written opinions
• trace trademark infringements on the internet
• issue cease and desist letters against trademark infringer and negotiate settlement agreements
• provide customs and police trainings – how to distinguish genuine products from counterfeits
• establish governmental relations to effectively combat product piracy and represent the company in respective federations
• assist the company in registration and opposition issues in Asia Pacific
Requirements:
• degree in law
• good knowledge in trademark law
• at least five years’ experience
• excellent communication and English language skills (written and spoken)
• very good computer skills, especially MS Office
• international work experience required
• high level of commitment, motivation and team orientation
