An international banking conglomerate is currently seeking a legal advisor to join their securities service for a period of 12 18 months.
Responsibilities:
Providing support to the fund services and global custody services, the incumbent will be expected to:
reviewing and revising current legal framework and documents for trustee, fund custody, fund administration and global custody services
reviewing and revising current legal framework and documents for credit facilities to funds/ custody clients, implementing corporate governance system for delegation of fund services to Hong Kong entities by offshore service providers
developing/ updating template fund custody agreement, review and amendment of legacy trust deeds/ fund custody agreement against benchmark terms
provide advice on issues arising from existing funds and also policy matters
liaise closely with Risk Management, Business and central legal in London, and may be involved in instructing and managing external counsel
Requirements:
candidates are expected to have at least four years PQE with experience of trusts and funds (offshore and onshore, regulated and non-regulated)
preferably some in-house experience
experience in regulatory matters, preferably in relation to Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands
ideally have knowledge of custody and settlement, and provision of credit facility and overdrafts to funds/institution in the context of custody services
Chinese writing and speaking skills are useful but not a pre-requisite
