A financial and brokerage arm of one of the most prominent developers in Hong Kong is seeking a Corporate & Legal Director to oversee its growing business.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the candidate will be expected to:
• coordinate human and other resourcing within the group’s legal department
• coordinate for the timely provision of legal advice to the management and its operational departments in relation to general commercial, securities and financial services, and corporate laws and practices
• Supervise legal department staff in the performance of primarily securities-related and commercial works, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating transactional documentation as well as various commercial proposals and agreements
• ensure the appropriate handling of regulatory, counterparty and other correspondences where legal department involvement needed
• ensure appropriate coordination with external counsel in respect of contentious or more complex legal matters
Requirements:
• qualified lawyer with at least 10 years’ post qualification
• substantial experience in investment / financial services field with strong people and project management skills
• networking and influencing skills
• strong ability to articulate and present ideas to the board, group committees and senior management levels
• excellent command of written and spoken English
• proficiency in Cantonese and/ or Mandarin an advantage
