The investment advisers to a private equity real estate fund managed by a global banking group and a renowned property developer is currently seeking a legal director.
Responsibilities:
• manage all legal, regulatory and compliance issues for the advisers
• handle the legal aspects of significant transactions including drafting and reviewing relevant documentation (including financing and loan agreements, shareholder agreements, confidentiality agreements, engagement letters and various material commercial contracts)
• assist in reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to ensure that the advisers’ business activities are in compliance with relevant external laws and internal code and policies
• monitor and review legal due diligence conducted by external counsel
• monitor and manage legal and operational risks of the adviser
• responsible for company secretarial duties and ad hoc matters
Requirements:
• qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or any other common law country
• minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in private practice or in-house legal
• candidate with PRC experience will have definite advantage
• proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• good commercial acumen and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Confident in writing with and advising senior management on legal matters of the Group
• occasional travel to PRC is required
