This leading European fashion retailer has recently set up their regional sourcing headquarters in Hong Kong. This newly created position will be responsible for establishing and managing all quality, technical and compliance elements of the business across the region.
Main Responsibilities:
• recruit, train and manage team members to ensure effective and efficient processing of product developments and on time delivery of production
• manage the day to day activities of regional based technical and QC teams based in countries where production is taking place
• assess supplier capability, quality management systems and product safety controls
• ensure all products shipped meet all company’s quality and safety requirements by efficient and effective quality management controls
• close liaison with technical teams in head office and dealing with quality feed back from delivered product
Requirements:
• at least 10 years’ experience managing a clothing technical development and production team in an international sourcing office
• managing the overall technical function from fabric development through to garment delivery
• the ideal candidate will have technical experience in fabric production and garment development/production
• strong technical garment construction and technical specification building experience
• ability and experience to assess fabric mills and garment manufacturers for their capability and suitability
• a good team player who possesses the ability to work cross functionally with all other departments in the office
• good communication and negotiating skills
This position could suit either a local or expatriate candidate with Asia experience.
