This growing freight forwarder and logistics provider is expanding across North Asia. Due to restructure, this company is now looking to bring on board a senior ocean freight expert in Hong Kong to cover North Asia (NAS).
The purpose of your role is three-fold:
to manage and provide leadership for the ocean product across the NAS organisation
to define and drive commercial direction for product, clusters and branches
to take ownership of overall P&L responsibility for the product within the NAS region
Principal Accountabilities:
provide clear direction for all commercial OCEAN activities through the establishment and execution of a solid milestone plan
be a constructive, engaged and critical partner to the global OCEAN organisation
develop strategies, targets and budget recommendations jointly with clusters
manage procurement, allocation capacity and pricing on behalf of the NAS region
lead commercial strategy implementation and execution in the NAS region for the OCEAN product
take an active role in business development of the product. Engage with sales to visit key clients and assist with development of target lists for the product. Help steer the CCO organisation in the right direction and in accordance with agreed targets
contribute to global OCEAN direction, when relevant or where required by the Centre
Specific requirements for the position:
working experience in Asian countries and a good understanding of cultural differences
minimum 15 years freight forwarding experience, out of which at least five years at senior management level
solid operational experience gained from working with an International Forwarder
Ocean product specialist
fluent spoken and written English
established network with carriers and other relevant business partners
relevant theoretical business education (bachelor/masters)
