This leading US based apparel brand is continuing to expand globally and refine its global sourcing structure.
This newly created position will report directly to the EVP based in the US and be responsible for the US and Hong Kong based sourcing teams. Globally, you will be the second most senior person within the apparel business.
Your main responsibilities will be to build an effective global apparel sourcing team, establishing aggressive goals, and measuring and reporting results of the sourcing operation. You will partner with the Hong Kong agency to manage and oversee resources, the cost of goods, quality and corporate responsibility programs and guidelines. You will support the company’s direct to retail business with quick to market strategies, as well as on-time delivery and achievement of lead-time and development and commercialisation targets. In this role, you will develop a sourcing strategy that is consistent with country quote and duty issues, operational opportunities, company growth, and market development throughout the world. You will work closely with the design, development, marketing and sales teams to ensure delivered products fulfill demand.
Qualifications:
• a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations; MBA is desired
• must have a minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in apparel manufacturing, purchasing, and/or sourcing
• proven ability to build the right factory, mill, and supplier base to responsibly grow a business
• excellent communication and presentation skills
• strong computer skills
• this role would suit expatriate or local candidates currently at VP/GM level with the ability to work at a global level
